About

Queens opened in 2018 in San Francisco's Sunset neighborhood, starting life as a specialty Korean deli & grocery with housemade provisions and prepared foods, an expertly curated pantry of small batch and hard-to-come-by Korean ingredients and a produce fridge filled with fresh foods and Asian heirloom produce sourced from local Bay Area farms. It has grown over the years since, adding a restaurant and cafe with a celebrated food menu and an evolving product line of our own.

The retail shop and restaurant closed in 2023 to focus our creativity and expertise towards making the most delicious, most thoughtfully produced Korean American ingredients and a pantry line fit for every household.

Our products are both traditional and diasporic, meaning we take influences from our Korean and Korean American heritages.

We love being inspired by the very best local produce and creating in the style of traditional methods in fermentation and preservation. Our products bring people closer to distinctive Korean flavors without depending on importing that’s harsh on the environment.

Our goal is to make something super tasty by relying on farmers who grow for flavor in fertile soils that produce more nutrient dense foods. We buy sustainably and directly from the source, process all our produce and raw ingredients in-house in our San Francisco facility, and make something extraordinary because it tastes like what it is.

We are proud to work with some of the very best farmers, purveyors, and producers in California. They include: Fiddler's Green Farm (Brooks, CA), Front Porch Farm (Healdsburg, CA), Star Route Farm (Bolinas, CA), Full Belly Farm (Guinda, CA), Solano Mushroom (Vacaville, CA), K&J Orchard (Winters, CA), Rainbow Orchards (Camino, CA), Four Star Seafood (San Francisco, CA), Koda Farms (South Dos Palos, CA), to mention a few.

We use recyclable glass jars and plastics, biodegradable packing peanuts that decompose in water, compostable & recyclable packing tape with non-toxic water-activated adhesive, and recyclable packing paper.
